Metito, the international des ali nation, water and wastewater treatment specialist, announced the completion of their latest water treatment plant in Nubaria, 60 kilometres south of Alexandria, Egypt for 47 Million Egyptian Pounds.
The facility was handed over to The Government of Egypt, Ministry of Electricity and Energy, according to the scheduled completion date.
Karim Madwar, Managing Director of Metito Egypt said:
“We have successfully completed this landmark project within time and budget estimations. We were initially contracted by Egypt through the Egyptian Electricity Holding Co and their consultant PGESCP in January 2004. The project provides high purity water for the power plant boilers, whilst the used industrial water is recycled for irrigation purposes. The benefits of this plant are that it is fully automated, reliable and a trouble-free operation.”
Work includes design, fabrication, shop testing, delivery, site installation, testing, commissioning and start up of a wide range of water and wastewater units for the power plant.
These included pre-treatment of the Nubaria Canal water (fed by the River Nile), a range of chemical injection systems, potable water system, high purity deminer ali sed water, neutr ali sation system, oil/water separation, domestic waste and industrial waste treatment systems for reuse of its effluent for irrigation.
“This project is the largest industrial water facility of its kind in Egypt and it is not going to be the last. There are a number of other facilities that are yet to be announced,” Madwar added.
