NOAA notifies Fugro Pelagos of successful selection

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a bureau of the U.S. Department of Commerce, completed evaluations for the presolicitation for Hydrographic Surveying and Related Support Services and has determined Fugro Pelagos, Inc. to be among the best qualified firms to perform the required work.
Contractual negotiations are proceeding and will lead to an initial Task Order in 2005. The final scope of work will be a series of Task Orders during a projected five-year period, with a USD 50 million ceiling. Operations can include multibeam echo sounder, side scan sonar and hydrographic LIDAR based surveying anywhere in US waters, including Alaska , Hawaii , the Territories and Great Lakes areas.
The contract is designed to help alleviate the backlog of charting requirements for updating navigation charts in US waters.
