Kuwait to establish the Biggest Port

Kuwait has carried out a feasibility study of establishing the Bubiyan port which will be the biggest sea port in the country. The project aims at transforming Bubiyan isle, a strategic location on the northern of the Arabian Gulf, which represents 5 % of the Kuwait area, to a major hub in the regional transport system.
The total cost of constructing this port will amount to KWD 345 million (about $ 1.40 billion). A high committee has been set up to follow up carrying out the project, under the headship of Badr Al-Hamidy, the minister of works and housing. The project will be accompanied by many gigantic projects, like free zone, vast warehouses and tourist facilities, to realize a qualitative economical integration in Bubiyan as the most vital isle in Kuwait . The minister of works and housing said that setting up this port represents a turning point the Kuwait economy that will put it on high levels of competition.
