Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) and Fairdeal Marine Services joined Recso last month, boosting the number of Recso member companies to 15.
IOOC was established in 1980 simultaneous with the beginning of the Iraq’s imposed war against Iran, to undertake exploitation and safeguard the hydrocarbon reservoirs of the area, previously carried out by a number of leading American and European oil companies. Fairdeal was inaugurated in 1978 in Greece and was one of the first shipping companies to specifically dedicate itself to environment protection
“As an associate member, we are combining our efforts after more than two decades of experience in the field of Marine Environment Protection Services in the region,” said Abdalla El-Suleiman, Manager of Environmental Affairs, Fairdeal. Fairdeal becomes the second private company to be Recso’s associate member.
“With the impressive vision of Recso, we hope to produce a very positive response in offering joint coverage, together with other members within the organisation, for local and regional oil spill response clean up operations,” El-Suleiman concluded.
