A panel of jurors for the Ford Motor Company Conservation and Environmental Grants is looking for worthy regional projects in the GCC and Levant countries with a total of US$90,000 to be awarded.
The jurors are looking for projects that demonstrate a well-defined sense of purpose, sincere commitment to maximising available resources and a reputation for meeting objectives and delivering on planned initiatives.
Since the programme’s introduction in the Middle East in 2000, a total of $420,000 has been made in grants. Grants have ranged from $1,000 to as much as $15,000 to more than 50 projects, from whale researchers in Oman to diving enthusiasts in Jordan and botanists in Saudi Arabia.
The programme is open to small, non-profit-making groups and individuals in the GCC and Levant implementing projects in three categories: natural environment, environmental education and conservation engineering.
Applications will be accepted until October 13 and forms are available at Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealerships.
